Slopes for skiing in Kaprun

Top-prepared slopes from October to May in all degrees of difficulty – that’s what awaits ski and snowboard enthusiasts at the Top of Salzburg, on the Kitzsteinhorn. In addition, there are magnificent views and experiences that are second to none.   • X1 Ice Age: 2 km long, 600 vertical meters, moderately difficult

Opening hours

Almost all year round, snow-hungry winter lovers are spoiled at the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier. The altitude allows for a long ski season: the ski lift gates open as early as October and do not close again until the end of May. For those who want to get a taste of glacier air in advance, the lifts to the Kitzsteinhorn and Maiskogel are open all year round and are adapted to the current weather and snow.

Maiskogel

Directly from the center of Kaprun, into pure skiing pleasure is possible! The Maiskogel is a true Eldorado for families and beginners: gentle, wide slopes offer ideal conditions both for the first turns in the snow and for leisurely skiers. The best thing is that the ski mountain is only a few steps away from the village center of Kaprun! Since 2019, another highlight ensures unlimited skiing pleasure: The 3K K-onnection connects the village of Kaprun, the family mountain Maiskogel and the glacier ski area Kitzsteinhorn into one. Skiing in Kaprun makes winter dreams come true!

Pistes

At the Maiskogel, it’s called leisurely wedeling or skiing, along the blue slope from the top station down to the valley – a true skiing pleasure. Advanced hobby skiers won’t be bored either: a red run ensures safe skiing fun – even without much effort. For those who want more altitude, take the Maiskogelbahn to the top station for more piste options while you are surrounded by breathtaking views via the 3K K-onnection to the glacier area Kitzsteinhorn.

Family Ski Area

At the affectionately named “Maisi”, skiing fun is guaranteed. Those who strap on their skis for the first time or classify themselves as more leisurely skiers, will find ideal conditions on the family mountain with its gentle terrain. Only one ski route? Piste? (jump – remove the word jump as English speakers might think this is an actual ski jump, replace with route or piste?)away from the village center, skiing becomes pure fun for young and old. In addition to perfectly groomed slopes, the diverse all-around offer is also something we are proud of. The lifts are open all year round and daily, skiing starts at Maiskogel and Lechnerberg in December – customized to the current weather, snow and operating situation. But threre is good news for those who cannot wait that long: on the Kitzsteinhorn, the ski lift gates open as early as October and do not close again until the end of May.
