Cross-country skiing is becoming increasingly important as the sport strengthens the whole-body, while being very gentle on the joints. One can go Cross Country Skiing in the glacier region of Kaprun and have unique views of the Kitzsteinhorn and of the snowy valley. These views are sure to clear the mind! Night Trail & Castle Trail
For all cross-country skiing enthusiasts who want to burn off some energy in the evening, how about an evening round on the illuminated night trail? From the Kaprun cross-country skiing centre, the trail leads past the Tauern Spa. After 2.8 km it continues with a pleasant incline towards Kaprun Castle. The trail is lit up until 9 pm.
The Castle Trail along the Salzach river, invites you to a leisurely cool-down or warm-up to a wonderful winter day. The approximately 5 km long route in the Kapruner Moor leads past Kaprun Castle – a dreamlike and mystical sight, especially in winter. Low gradients promise relaxed training in the snow. It is an ideal loop deal for cross-country skiing beginners.
Glacier Trail
Are you a cross-country skiing fan and simply can’t get enough of the crystal-clear glacier air? Then the glacier trail is just the thing for you. Directly on the glacier plateau at an altitude of almost 3000 meters, the circuit runs in serpentines, slightly rising over a length of 1.3 km. In addition to the sporting challenge, this trail has a magnificent panoramic view.
